Maumelle Middle School

On Saturday, October 4, 29 students from Maumelle MS went to audition with 1075 other students from around Central Arkansas at the Region 2 Jr. High All Region Tryouts. We had three students from Maumelle MS make the Jr. High All-Region Choir! It is such an honor to make the choir, and we'd like to give them a special Stinger Shout Out!!! Go Stingers!!!

This week, Ms. Sam's students explored the concepts of density and buoyancy through a hands-on lab!

They designed and tested boats to see if the shape of the boat affected how much weight it could hold before sinking. The results were amazing, some boats held far more than expected, while others sank quickly! Nice work! Go Stingers!!!

Ms. Muffley's classes were working on fractions, decimals, and percents. Students were using stations that included converting 10x10 grids into fractions, decimals, and percents and trashketball using baskets made out of total attempts (10) and converting that into a percent. Great work, scholars! Go Stingers!!!

Who says math isn’t used in everyday life? Coach Mooney’s ALE class takes on a budget and a spending scenario to see if they have the funds to purchase all of their items with tips and sale taxes added on! Way to go, Stingers!!!

Students who donated their change from book fair purchases to Share the Fair, formerly All for Books, were in a drawing to win a book or a poster! Here are some of the students who won in the drawing. A big "Thank You" to these students for their generosity! Go Stingers!!!

Our Flu Shot Clinic will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025. Free flu vaccinations are available for all Stinger students and staff. These are provided by the Arkansas Department of Health. Consent forms were sent home by mail, but there are extras in the Front Office. Forms must be returned by Monday, October 13, 2025. Thank you! Go Stingers!!!

🎶 Maumelle Middle School was alive with harmony Saturday as over 125 talented students from across Pulaski County Special School District came together for an epic Jr. High All-Region Choir prep clinic! 🎤

This musical boot camp, orchestrated by Junior High and Middle School Choir Directors, was all about helping students hit the right notes — and secure their spot in the Region 2 Jr. High All-Region Choir at tryouts in Cabot on October 4. 🎼
