Transition Camp is almost over, but until then, we will continue the learning and exploration.

During science, scholars were able to explore different objects using a microscope. They were to record their findings, and discuss it with the group.

We look forward to exploring, learning, and expanding our learning this upcoming school year!

On the fourth (4th) day of Transition Camp my rising 6th grade scholar said to me "I got to ask 7th and 8th scholars questions about what it's like to be in middle school!" Today at our Mills Middle School Feeder Transition Camp scholars engaged in a "real talk" panel discussion with their upper class men about middle school. Camp ended with every scholar taking a book of their choice home (to read). #itsagreatdaytobeacomet #millsmiddleschoolcomets #learningisrequired #summerlearning #rising6thgraders #learningisfun

Mills Middle School Rising 6th grade Feeder School Transition Camp and AVID Excel Summer Bridge enjoyed a wonderful college, career, and storm tracker talk with Fox 16 News, Chief Meteorologist, Joel Young. Scholars learned how Young's interest in the weather in college led to his career as a meteorologist. They also learned that the antidote to being afraid of tornadoes and storms is to be prepared. A big thank you to Hiland Dairy for surprising our scholars with ice cream. A great inspiring day was had at Comet Nation today! #fox16news #stormtracker #joelyoung #collegeandcareer #hilanddairy #icecream #millsmiddleschoolcomets
